I'm not worried about diameter of the wheel. I know that will be just fine. I am talking about the center rubbing the side of the caliper cause the center would be straight up to the wheel from the mounting surface.

well, they don't have a 43" sticky in a 16.5 wheel. So I will have to do 17's I guess.

quick question. my steel rims are 16x9" with 4.5" backspacing will they work with high steer?(I don't have everything bolted together to check myself. I have some 15x12" aluminum rims with 3 1/2 inch back spacing but thats really wide ......like 7" further than now per side and I'm 1 1/2 over or more now.

Assuming you are using a dana 44 they should... there are some offset high steer arms and they will help. If I remember correctly H1 rims hit by about 1" and they are 16.5's with 7" of back spacing.
